45th Reunion Initial Summary Click Here for the 45th reunion October 9, 2010 pictures The 45th Cedar Falls High Class Reunion is officially in the books!! Many were close to cardiac arrest dancing but all survived! Dr. Mick Starcevich was the official speaker after dinner at the Commons...Thank you Mick for guiding us down memory lane as bumpy as it might have been! Also Dr. Tom Hennessey gave an unauthorized & unannounced post speech telling many embarrassing stories to the laughter of all...I guess I have to say "Thank you Tom" even though Mick & I were at the brunt of most of the stories. Special thanks to Rosie & Larry Sorenson for the great decorations for the Commons and Slife Lounge ! Rosie truly has a gift! Valerie Bandfield Poyner, Connie Gabbard Leahy, Carol Burhow Eastman and Joanne Gordon Rickert (also name tags) took point with the food arrangements at the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 on Friday night. Other local committee members collaborating to get things organized were Steve Smith (& his wife Bonnie helped Rosie with decorations), Bruce Gulick,KO Kelting, Sandra Runyan, JoAnne Ove (deceased list), Joe Perkins, Beverly Gaden Gibson, Jackie Frink Rubendall, and many others contributed their time as well as donating food. It appears at first glance that we will be flush financially but I will post a summary spreadsheet after all of the bills including the University Commons comes in. THANKS TO ALL!! And start resting up for the 50th!! IMPORTANT! Please make sure your 'Contact" information is up to date on the web site. Also reunion information, applications and the like are posted in the "Events" area of the web site. With so many people moving for a host of reasons, it becomes very difficult if not impossible to keep connected without current info being posted. Thanks in advance for the effort. 50th Class Reunion! Tentatively we are looking at October 9, 10 & 11, 2015 depending on UNI (Iowa & Iowa State) home football games plus other date conflicts

A Message from Linda McVey
....I HAVE A HERO........
In the months leading up to last year's
hugely successful class reunion, my dear friend Nancy Halverson Killian
was convalescing from surgery. This surgery was very special for two
reasons: it was elective and it was life changing. Nan donated her
kidney so that someone (a total stranger to her at the time) could have
a second chance to live a full life. In April they celebrated the 1
year anniversary of their surgeries.
I cannot tell you how much I admire her
courage and selflessness. I've never fully expressed this so I am
sending this to her as well.
My constant regret is that I did not
think to seize the opportunity to reveal her benevolent act when
we were all together last year.
Thankfully, its never too late to share
this kind of news. If she had any idea I was writing this to you all,
Nan would probably (after the modest blushing subsided) have a stack of
donor application forms at the ready!!!
WAY TO GO NAN!!! I am so very proud to
be your friend.....

We will plan to meet somewhere else (yet to be determined....maybe Mulligan's) after the parade.

Steve Ryan was our "mystery guest" from Wisconsin along with 16 locals (Dave Anders and his wife Lynn, Connie Gabbard Leahy and her husband Ken, Bruce Gulick, Sandra Mayo Runyan, Joanne Gordon Rickert, Harold Asmus , Teri Thorsrud Weidemann, Eidie Kampman Miller, Valerie Bandfield Schuler, Cathy Frink Kimm, K.O. Kelting (has a finger fetish with the nubs on his margarita glass), Jack Olson, Larry Sorensen and Jay Stoddard). A few incriminating photos are published on the "Photo" page (one of the cameras wasn't set correctly so the photos are posted as taken.....operator error....sorry! No, alcohol was not a factor!!).
